9/11 is a reminder that freedom is precious.
Who would have ever thought that commercial airliners would be hijacked by terrorists in a plot to harm the United States? No one expected it, and the nation was not prepared.
The attacks by terrorists who had taken over control of American airplanes caused many deaths and injuries of innocent citizens. The World Trade Center in New York City was destroyed when airplanes were flown into the twin towers. The Pentagon in Washington, D.C. was also struck. Another plane crashed in a Pennsylvania field. It was suspected that the plane was headed for the U.S. Capitol or The White House.
On the eve of the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, a Presidential debate was held in Pennsylvania. Kamala Harris and Donald Trump faced each other. It was reported that they had never before met. Trump declined to attend the inauguration of President Joe Biden after Biden was elected President of the United States.
The election will be coming up soon in November. This is a reminder that freedom is precious, and the right to vote is a sacred privilege.
Remembering 9/11 and the victims of the attacks is important to appreciate the United States and the privileges of citizenship. People who live in the United States of America should feel gratitude for the freedoms they enjoy and for the people who serve to protect those freedoms.
