My Email Inbox Brought A Definite And Obvious Scam

It should raise red flags

People generally receive way more emails than they want.

Millions of unwanted emails are being received each day. Some are from scammers who are trying to steal money from innocent victims. They are trying to trick people into giving them personal information with which they can steal money. They often use the names of reputable companies in their scams.

An email which I recently received said:

Hey there.

Attached is the link to your invoice. review the details provided. Should you have any questions or require clarification on any items, our team is available to assist you. We strive to provide clear communication throughout!

Your INV: 6601xxxxxx

E. H.

The top part of the attachment was in clear view without clicking on the link. It had an amount due of over $700 for a McAfee subscription.
