Email Spam Filters May Be Doing You A Favor
They could be weeding out scams
Many people still use emails.
Although many people seldom use emails any longer because they favor sending and receiving texts, emails are still an effective way to communicate. They might be used also by scammers.
Email services have a spam filter where they try to weed out emails that they feel are unwanted or junk. Scam emails may end up in the spam folder.
Some people regularly check their spam folder because it is possible for legitimate and friend emails to slip through to end up in spam.
I seldom look in the spam folder. It is generally just deleted without checking the emails. I did notice an email in spam which was obviously a scam. It read:
Greetings. I am Yolanda Munire (name changed). It is indeed my pleasure to write to you which I believe will be a surprise for you as we have never met before, but please pay attention and understand my reason for contacting you. I will explain more about myself in detail and the purpose of writing to you when I receive your reply. I will patiently to read from you. Regards.
There are clues such as the way it is written. It does use poor grammar, which could be an indication that it is coming from another country…
