Old and young are able to get the vaccines now

Even though health care professionals have mostly recommended for some time that everyone get the COVID-19 vaccines at the earliest time they are able, there are still millions of people who are dragging their feet with regard to getting the vaccinations. They don’t want the vaccine.

Who are these people? At first, they seemed to be mainly Trump followers who were against anything the government and medical personnel said to do to stop the spread. They were against wearing masks. They protested about social distancing and self isolation.

People are back at church now

Most churches stopped having services in their buildings, chapels, synagogues, temples, and other houses of worship when the COVID-19 pandemic began. It was not a happy time for many churchgoers who wanted to meet together as they had always done.

After several months of closure, some churches reopened and began having services once again. Some people protested that the churches had been recommended to remain closed until it was safe to reopen. Stopping the spread is still important even with the vaccine now available to most of the population in the United States.

Racism is continuing to occur

It is a shame that people in the United States continue to be racist in many respects. Not only is the racism against Asian Americans continuing to escalate because of words spoken about the COVID-19 pandemic, but Black people continue to face racism as they have for so many years.

A high school in Mississippi announced that the valedictorian and the salutatorian of the graduating class would both be Black students. They were to be honored as the top students in the senior class.

Fans at a girls’ basketball game shouted racist jeers

Apparently, racism is alive and well in high school sports. It happens when fans make racist remarks and shout jeers at the players. Racism should not be part of sports, but it remains a problem.

Racism has actually been displayed by fans at NBA games lately as well. Fans are ejected and not allowed to return to games at the facility after they have been racist toward Black players. These are highly trained and accomplished athletes who have achieved amazing success. They don’t deserve to be treated with disrespect and racism.

The mind is a wonderful thing

When your mind works well and your memory is fine, life is good. You can think and reason without problems. You are able to make decisions and take care of daily activities without trouble. You know what your responsibilities are and can take care of paying your bills. You know your family and can enjoy them.

If your memory fades and your brain does not work as well as it once did, life can have huge challenges. Dementia and Alzheimer’s may enter the picture, which will definitely make life difficult.

It can get so…

They don’t care if they are on video

The Nation’s Capitol was hit with an insurrection

Do they realize that they are performing criminal acts and doing things that are against the law? Do they even care that they are becoming criminals as they show the world their actions through videos? One wonders what is wrong with these people that they seem not to care.

The people who stormed the Capitol in Washington, D.C. who were caught on video thought they were doing the bidding of Donald Trump. Now some of them are claiming that they are victims after they were arrested. …

It could be a cry for today

Racism continues to be an issue.

When problems arise in society and in life, stress and anxiety can take over the lives of people. It may be difficult to rise above the problems without the right attitude. Racism, political division, hate, and discord are issues of our day which should be addressed.

When the civil rights movement came to a head in the 1950s and 1960s, a song became popular in trying to help address the issues. “We Shall Overcome” was the battle cry of the time. It is something that we still need to do today.

Many factors in life are affected by racism

Ever since the early days of slavery, racism has been an issue in the United States. Equality was never considered among the races as the White people proclaimed superiority. It took many years for slavery to be abolished, but the racism never fully ended.

Black people have endured severe racism for centuries. Brown people and other s such as Asians have also been affected by racism toward them.

It’s a difficult situation when people have to worry about their safety as they go about their daily lives. Some people are harassed when…
